Robert at the Cameron Symphony Explorer Concerts in Houston

2015 marks Maestro Robert Franz’ 8th season as Associate Conductor of the Houston Symphony. As part of his artistic leadership, Franz has created a stimulating, yet fun learning environment which has led to an enormous demand in both education and family programming. He is committed to developing student audiences through activities that include instructing students on the merits of active listening, and dressing up in costumes to entertain and engage children and parents. During his tenure in Houston the number of students attending educational concerts has risen exponentially from 30,000, to 55,000 last season.
 
Franz also conducts the Houston Symphony’s popular “Summer Community Concert” series with programs presented throughout the Greater Houston area. The concerts are designed to create a positive experience for its diverse communities by bringing the world of classical music to its doorsteps. The many cultures of Houston are reflected in this season’s creative programming which includes a gospel choir, Mariachi band and a talented Pipa player.
